western side of Negros Island the fourth largest island in the Philippines
with a total land area of 972,607 hectares. The province is approximately
375 kms long from north to south. It is bounded by the Visayan Sea on the
north. Panay Gulf on the west. Taņon Strait and Negros Oriental province on
the east and Sulu Sea on the South. Bacolod is the entry point to Negros Occidental to Philippine island resort. By air Bacolod is 50 minutes from Manila and 30 minutes form Cebu. There are seven daily to and from Manila and 2 daily flight to and from Cebu. Bacolod is accessible by boat from Manila (18 hrs) and from iloilo (45 mins) by fast ferries. By land from Cebu, Bacolod is approximately seven hours away, also Philippine island resort. |
